Thoughts
This was an artwork commissioned for a halloween theme. I had to pose the character Mei-Mei as the poster from the movie Pearl. At first i had tried to give Mei-Mei her standard purple dress, it turns out that i needed to put her as the same clothes as Pearl. When drawing this i had tried the method of splash art rendering, where everything is smooth using airbrush tool as a quick shaping tool(Values). In the end i still use the opacity brush (round and custom) to differentiate hard and soft edges. It might be one of my favorite methods. The strong lighting was made as a direct reference to the movie poster. I used the program Artstudio Pro, i still find it quite better than procreate.
